7 Reasons to participate in the 21st Solar Bangladesh Int’l Expo 2024
In the past 20 years, around 6 million solar home systems have been installed across cities and villages in Bangladesh, providing electricity to remote off-grid communities.
The Bangladeshi solar energy market is projected to develop at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 38.60% from 2024 to 2029, from an estimated 0.55 gigawatt in 2024 to 2.84 gigawatt by that time.
Bangladesh aims to generate over 4,100 megawatts of electricity from renewable energy sources
by 2030, with solar power expected to contribute around 2,277 MW, presenting a substantial
opportunity for the solar energy sector.
By 2041, Bangladesh plans to produce 40% of its electricity from clean sources and import 9,000
MW of renewable energy from neighboring countries. This offers solar manufacturers a prime
opportunity to showcase innovations and expand their market at the Solar Bangladesh Int’l Expo,
the Oldest & Biggest Expo of its kind.
Rays Power Infra, Bangladesh's largest solar photovoltaic power plant, currently has 1.3 GW of
solar capacity and plans to expand to 2.0 GW within the next two years.
Over the past decade, the number of solar systems in Bangladesh has surged from 25,000 to 2.8
million, as reported by IRENA. This growth has generated approximately 114,000 jobs in various
roles, including assembling, selling, installing, and maintaining solar panels.
